The shielded compartment houses any RFID-enabled card so users can make contactless tap purchases via RFID transmissions at any participating tap-to-pay location, including subways, rapid transit, restaurants, and gas stations, and participating retail locations. It also keeps the iPhone and the RFID-enabled card functioning properly with no cross-interference. No RFID card? No problem.
